Travel RN - Operating Room - First Assist

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN - Surgical First Assist for a 13-week OR contract in Paducah, KY, requiring a valid RN First Assist certification and on-call availability every other night and weekend.

Job Details

• Hospital Operating Room (OR) setting within a Surgical Services department,

• Day shift, Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM-2:30 PM (8-hour shifts),

• 40 hours per week, 5 days per week,

• On-call required every other night and every other weekend,

• 13-week contract,

Job Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license - KY state or Compact license required,

• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required,

• RN First Assist certification required: CNOR or RNFA,

• ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred,

• 2+ years of prior nursing experience as a First Assist preferred,

• MM/DD of date of birth and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration,

• Copies of certifications and license verification required for consideration,

Additional Information

• Responsible for perioperative nursing care spanning preoperative preparation, intraoperative assistance, and transition to recovery,

• Assists the surgical team in case preparation, room setup, and post-procedure room breakdown,

• Selects appropriate equipment and supplies based on the specific surgical procedure,

• Performs instrument and needle counts in accordance with facility policy,

• Maintains aseptic technique and adheres to AORN standards of care,

• Demonstrates knowledge of surgical pharmacology and anesthesia adjuncts,

• Administers medications and performs treatments per facility policies and procedures,

• Supports room turnaround efficiency and responsible utilization of resources
