Summary/Objective
The Marine Logistics/Dispatcher works collectively with the Marine Transportation Manager, Port Captain, Marketing Representatives, Quarry's and towing partners to plan, direct and coordinate the activities associated with our barge loadings, towing and marine operations along the inland waterway system to fulfill our internal and external customer's requirements. The Marine Logistics/Dispatcher serves as an ambassador to all our internal and external customers thus ensuring we are operating within the realm and scope of all contract requirements delivering cargo in an efficient and timely manner.
EssentialFunctions/Requirements
- 2+ years marine operations dispatch experience required
- Hands-on Tow Works software experience strongly preferred
- Handle work orders, vessel dispatching, and crew scheduling
- Monitor and track vessel locations in real-time
- Coordinate barge planning and voyage scheduling
- Serve as customer point of contact
- Maintain detailed logs of dispatch activities
- Generate weekly and monthly operational reports
- Verify invoices and approve for accounts payable
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- Proficiency in MS Office and email.
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Strong multitasking and prioritization abilities
- Highly organized with analytical mindset
- Self-starter with results-oriented approach
- Primary work location, Paducah, Ky
- Valid driver's license required
Ambassador to the coordination of marine logistics involving cargoes being loaded, transported and unloaded in a safe and cost efficient manner thus providing quality service to all stakeholders. Provide assistance in tracking and monitoring USCG 46 CFR Subchapter M compliance initiatives through use of Tow Works computer software program.
