Position Summary
Food and food service delivery drivers perform critical work in the food supply chain by ensuring timely and safe delivery of products to customers. They also serve as the face of the company, building lasting relationships.
Schedule:
Monday‑Friday with occasional Saturdays. 12‑hour shifts. Start and end times vary. Home daily.
- Communicate and interact with customers, vendors, and co‑workers professionally.
- Work as a team member within the department and organization, performing any duty assigned to best serve the company.
- Perform required safety checks (pre‑ and post‑trip) and inspections of tractor, truck, and trailer per DOT regulations.
- Report all safety issues, repairs, and hazards, and ensure freight is properly loaded and secured.
- Perform count checks, verify invoices, and complete required paperwork accurately.
- Operate tractor to loading dock, attach trailers, and drive to deliver orders per schedule.
- Unload products into designated customer storage areas, conduct damage‑control checks, scan items, and contact supervisor as needed.
- Verify delivery of items with customers, obtain signatures, collect payment, and load customer returns.
- Secure tractor, trailer, and freight, lock doors, and maintain safety.
- Perform general housekeeping duties in tractor and loading dock area, keep trailers clean, and remove trash.
- Complete daily hours of service record in log per Federal DOT, state, and company requirements.
- Secure equipment and complete all paperwork at the end of shift.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- 12+ months commercial driving experience.
- Valid CDL‑A license.
- Age 21 or older.
- Meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements where applicable.
- Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for past 3 years.
- Pass post‑offer drug test and criminal background check.
- Pass road test.
- Obtain or currently hold a valid DOT Health Card.
- Able to hand‑lift and use lifting equipment to move or stack product cases/freight ranging from approximately 10–35 pounds to 60–90 pounds.
Average annual pay around $70,000 - $90,000.
