This Per Diem Ultrasound Technologist position gives you the flexibility to work as needed on your own time. The position will require often working independently; therefore previous experience is highly preferred. 2+ YOE preferred.

This position performs procedures by following and verifying referring provider’s orders. Uses independent judgment and applies learned methodologies according to established policy and procedures for one Ultrasound certification.
Core Functions- Performs all exams by following and verifying referring provider’s orders, adhering to established protocols, providing all pertinent patient information utilized by the radiologist for complete dictation. Performs ultrasound‑guided procedures and works closely with the radiologist or provider.
- Educates patients and families about procedure and/or treatment to be performed. Demonstrates professional behavior and conduct in all interactions. Fosters teamwork, ensures efficient use of resources, and advocates for quality patient outcomes.
- Performs and evaluates equipment quality control measurements, performs troubleshooting as needed and notifies appropriate personnel to maintain equipment performance. Maintains a safe environment for patients, personnel, and visitors; adheres to safety policies; ensures imaging areas and equipment are in a constant state of "Ready".
- Demonstrates competence in performing prescribed invasive/interventional procedures if applicable and in accordance with established policies. Maintains proficiency and competencies signed off for all studies related to certification(s). Performs high‑quality imaging in accordance with training received.
- Accountable for ethical, legal, professional and certification responsibilities related to the practice. Maintains confidentiality of all work information.
- Assures the efficient operation of workflow in the department through patient triage and prioritization. Monitors and maintains an adequate inventory of supplies and materials to ensure uninterrupted services.
- Internal customers:
All levels of medical imaging and nursing management and staff, medical staff, and all other members of the interdisciplinary health‑care team. External customers:
Regulatory and health agencies, patients, and family members.
- National certification in one area of specialty from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS), Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) or the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Uncertified new hires who are Registry eligible must obtain certification within 12 months of hire and image with an experienced technologist until fully proficient.
- BLS certification required.
- Completion of an approved Ultrasound program.
- Clinical knowledge typically achieved by 0–3 years of experience.
- Effective communication skills, human relations skills, ability to analyze data and solve problems.
- Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
