Position: Registered Nurse RN MedSurg per diem Page, AZ at Banner Health Page, AZ

Position Summary

Registered Nurse (RN) Med Surg per diem in Page, AZ. The role involves caring for a variety of patients in the Emergency department. This per diem position has no benefits or guaranteed hours.

Core Functions

Assess patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural and discharge planning needs; review history, diagnostics, and report abnormal results; complete assessments as per policy.

Formulate a patient‑specific plan of care and discharge plan; set realistic, measurable goals with patient/family; consider cultural, age‑specific, and educational needs; revise plan based on patient status.

Implement the plan of care through direct patient care, coordination, delegation, and supervision of team activities; provide care per physician orders and nursing plan, comply with policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.

Evaluate patient and family response to care and teaching; revise plan of care as needed; assess progress toward goals with team.

Document assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation in the patient record; ensure legible, timely documentation reflecting objective/subjective data and interventions.

Provide evidence‑based care; participate in research, unit leadership, education, role development, and orientation; mentor others when appropriate.

Contribute to society through activities that improve patient outcomes; engage in national nursing quality improvement and professional organizations.

Supervise staff and workflow of the department (for some roles).

Interact with all levels of staff, physicians, patients, families, external contacts, and clergy; synthesize and prioritize data from multiple sources to support patient and family response.

Minimum Qualifications

Current, valid RN license in state of practice, temporary/interim RN license, or compact RN licensure in state of practice.
BLS certification required.
Experience in the clinical area for which the position is applied is desired.
Maintain clinical performance competencies appropriate to the area through annual validations.
Banner Registry and Travel acute care positions require a minimum of one year experience in an acute care hospital setting within the past 12 months as a Registered Nurse.
Banner Registry and Travel physician practice positions require a minimum of one year experience as a Registered Nurse in a physician practice or an acute care setting.
For certain Banner Behavioral Health and other facilities, possession and maintenance of applicable fingerprint clearance cards is required at the time of hire and throughout employment.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree.
Professional certification.
Additional related education and/or experience.
