Accounting Manager

A growing, highly engineered manufacturing company serving the aerospace and defense industry is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead its accounting operations and serve as a strategic business partner to executive leadership. This is an opportunity for an independent, hands-on leader who enjoys improving processes, driving operational excellence, and making a measurable impact on the business.

This is not a maintenance role. We're looking for someone who takes ownership, solves problems proactively, and continuously improves financial operations.

• Lead and develop the accounting team while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
• Accounts Payable
• Accounts Receivable
• Cost Accounting
• Payroll
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes
• Prepare financial statements, KPIs, forecasts, budgets, and variance analyses
• Partner with Operations to improve inventory accuracy, production costing, and profitability
• Drive process improvements, internal controls, and financial reporting accuracy
• Support internal and external audits while maintaining compliance with US GAAP, SOX, and other regulatory requirements
• Provide financial modeling and analysis to support executive decision-making
• Ensure ERP system integrity and continuous improvement of financial processes

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• 5+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience in a manufacturing environment
• 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience
• Strong cost accounting and inventory accounting experience
• Experience with ERP systems in manufacturing
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting
• Demonstrated ability to improve processes and work independently

• CPA or MBA
• Experience with Infor XA / MAPICS
• Experience in aerospace, defense, or another highly regulated manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of ASC 606, ASC 842, SOX, ITAR, or similar compliance frameworks
