Transporter Painter

Evolve Transporters is a high-end custom fabrication company with locations in greater Indianapolis, IN and Cleveland, OH. Our clients are some of the biggest motor sport teams and brands in the world, for which we assist in designing, fabricating and servicing race transporters. We have a sharp focus on client satisfaction and a desire for continued innovation.

This position reports to: Phase II Foreman

Location: Painesville, OH

What You Can Expect In This Role

The Transporter Painter is an integral role that ensures all new client transporters are prepped and painted according to the client’s expectations. This role will paint all components of new builds and ensure all jobs are properly executed and visually appropriate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect condition of panels and parts to be painted for any defects in repair, prepping or masking; refer any issues discovered to supervisor.
  • Sand aluminum and steel surfaces to ensure that paint adheres to surface and provides corrosion control methods to customer specifications.
  • Mask and cover portions of surfaces not to be painted.
  • Apply paint to new builds, parts, service jobs, and any variety of parts for current projects.
  • Perform color mixing and tinting, spray booth operations, operate prep stations, applying primers, sealers, color, and clear coats.
  • Evaluate and perform quality checks on finished products.
  • Ensure processes are executed efficiently with a focus on quality.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of project notes.
  • Follow company inventory procedures.
  • Keep the work area clean and safe.
  • Foster a positive team-oriented attitude and collaborate effectively with peers.
  • Assist other Production Departments in any and all related tasks when not actively working on painting projects.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach and stoop in both office and shop settings.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces, off ladders, and moderate heights.
  • Comfortable working with sanders, sprayers, paints and various associated chemicals.
Preferred Experience
  • College coursework, technical training or certifications in automotive or manufacturing paint operation.
