Production Associate- Second Shift - Painesville, OH

Job Description

The primary responsibility of this role is to work on a metalizer with additional responsibility for all functional finishing assets including S3, S4, rewinder, sheeter, and lever. Lead machine set‑ups and changeovers, problem‑solving, coordinating preventative maintenance (PMs), and making decisions on machine adjustments.

This position will work Monday - Friday 2:45 pm‑11 pm.

• Loading raw material into the machine and unloading finished product.
• Determining and controlling the machine cycle, varying and modifying as necessary to create and maintain a quality product.
• Performing tests and checking product routinely for multiple characteristics, using standard measuring devices and making judgments against standards that are not readily measurable.
• Housekeeping of the asset and maintaining quality products.
• Machine set‑up of wire, boats and other areas performed on the equipment.
• Meeting production schedules and programming production sequences for optimal productivity.
• Following standard operating procedures and specifications or instructions from higher level technical personnel. Monitoring meters, gauges, valves, flow ratios, temperatures, pressures and related controls and guidelines to ensure adherence to production/process specifications.
• Maintaining production records and logs of equipment and product performance.
  
  Following all health, safety and housekeeping procedures, policies and practices. Working consistently in a safe manner with regard to self, co‑workers and manufacturing systems.
• Supporting safety, quality and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Assisting and supporting other team members to meet department and site goals, including finishing assets in the department. Participating and sharing in performing all tasks necessary to run the facility. Contributing to team decision‑making. Providing support in project work and other special requests.
• Working short‑notice overtime to meet business demand on the metalizer asset.
• Obtaining a Lift Truck Operator’s license and being able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Becoming lift‑truck certified.

Minimum

Education Required:

High School/GED.

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) or 3+ years of relevant manufacturing work experience.
• Ability to follow written and oral instruction.

• Proficiency with computer applications, especially strong MFG Pro transactional skills.

• 3–5 years of experience in manufacturing in a similar production environment.
• Strong shipping/receiving system usage and understanding.
• Track record of leading continuous improvement initiatives.
• Project Management and Time Management skills.
• Track record of implementing Lean manufacturing processes.
