The extrusion operator performs all tasks associated with operating the bulk roll films extruder following the standard operating procedures.
Location:
Engineered Films Plants – open to working at Concord Building 18 or Painesville Building 3E.
Schedule:
Night shift 6:45 p.m.–7:00 a.m. (B Team). New hires must also be available to train on the day shift 6:45 a.m.–7:00 p.m. for the first 90 days. After training, the regular schedule is B Team, 6:45–7 a.m. with a 3‑1‑3 shift pattern.
- Operate and maintain all processing and material handling equipment within the film extrusion process.
- Follow process procedures or instructions from line operators and team leaders.
- Monitor meters, gauges, valves, flow ratios, temperatures, pressures and related controls and guidelines to ensure adherence to production specifications.
- Set up machines requiring a high level of precision and the interaction of multiple variables.
- Load raw materials, determine and manage machine controls, and unload finished product.
- Perform routine tests and check product for multiple characteristics using standard measuring devices, including calibrated measuring tapes.
- Monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
- Report any malfunctions or abnormalities of equipment.
- Maintain production records and logs of equipment and product performance.
- Adjust setup and process operations accordingly for jobs of varying duration and cycle changes.
- Continuously review current processes and search for improvement methods to enhance product/process quality and reduce waste or rework.
- High school diploma or equivalent or 3+ years of relevant manufacturing experience required.
- Possess or acquire any licensures necessary to perform the job within specified timing.
- Adaptive, flexible and able to handle ambiguity.
