- Base Pay $19.00 - $22.50 / Hour
The Second Shift Tool Room Technician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and preparing molds and fixtures to ensure they are ready for production. This role performs preventative maintenance, inspections, mold changeovers, repairs, and documentation while operating a variety of machining and tooling equipment. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
EssentialFunctions/Responsibilities:
- Maintain all molds and fixtures in good working order.
- Clean and inspect molds between production runs. This includes full PM’s.
- Repairs molds and components as necessary, notifying tooling lead of any issues.
- Fill out paperwork for all repairs and maintenance performed on tooling.
- Tag molds with red or green tags to keep track of mold status (pm, need pm, what inserts are installed in mold base, mold damage, needs repair, etc.)
- Change over molds with required inserts.
- When appropriate, returns molds (ready for next production run) to storage area and stores in correct location.
- Support set ups and set molds when needed.
- Work in a safety conscious manner
- Help maintain inventory of all necessary components (bolts, pins, O-rings, tools and other tooling)
- Look for and suggest ways to improve equipment and processes.
- Assist in machining operations, continue to expand machining skills.
- Documents work performed on molds
- Ability to perform Diamond Polish
- Knowledge of basic mold construction and functionality
- Operate bridge crane system, Bridge-Port, Lathes, Drill Press, and surface grinder
Knowledgeable inawidevarietyofhandandpowertoolssuch as wrenches, hammers, drills, pyrometers, torque wrenches, etc.
- Basic Computer Knowledge
- Clocks in/out of work orders and for breaks in IQMS.
- Must be able to lift, push or pull 70 lbs.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Certified to perform ice blasting
- Must maintain forklift license
- May require Flexibility with work Schedule
- Understanding of all areas outlined on the Skills Checklist
