Quality Technician
Job Description
This Quality Technician role focuses on performing precise dimensional inspections, interpreting complex engineering drawings, and ensuring products meet stringent quality and aerospace standards. The position involves extensive use of metrology tools, adherence to GD&T practices, and thorough documentation to support compliance with industry requirements.
Responsibilities
+ Perform detailed dimensional inspections using a variety of metrology tools and inspection equipment.
+ Read and interpret complex engineering drawings to verify that products meet design specifications.
+ Inspect products in accordance with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) standards.
+ Prepare and maintain documentation of inspections, including certificates of conformance, special process certifications, material certifications, and related records.
+ Create and complete First Article Inspection (FAI) reports to verify design compliance in accordance with AS9102 requirements.
+ Support quality control activities within a manufacturing environment to ensure consistent product quality and compliance.
+ Collaborate with engineering and production teams to clarify drawing requirements and resolve inspection-related issues.
+ Use coordinate measuring machines (CMM) and other advanced metrology equipment, where applicable, to perform accurate measurements.
+ Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying quality issues and suggesting corrective or preventive actions.
Essential Skills
+ At least 3 years of experience in a quality role within a manufacturing environment.
+ Strong ability to read and understand complex engineering drawings.
+ Solid knowledge and practical application of GD&T principles.
+ Hands-on experience with metrology tools and measuring instruments for dimensional inspection.
+ Proficiency in quality control and inspection practices within a production setting.
+ Ability to document inspection results clearly and accurately, including certificates and reports.
+ Attention to detail and strong analytical skills when evaluating product conformance.

Skills & Qualifications
+
Experience with coordinate measuring machines (CMM); CMM programming experience is a plus.
+ Familiarity with aerospace industry standards and practices is a plus.
+ Knowledge of AS9100 quality management system requirements.
+ Experience creating First Article Inspection (FAI) reports in accordance with AS9102.
+ Background in working with advanced metrology equipment in a laboratory or controlled environment.
Work Environment
The role is based in a quality control laboratory environment equipped with metrology tools, inspection instruments, and related measurement equipment. You will work closely with production and engineering teams in a manufacturing setting that supports aerospace-level quality standards such as AS9100 and AS9102. The environment emphasizes precision, documentation accuracy, and adherence to established quality procedures.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Painesville, OH.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $30.00/hr.
