True Axis Recruiting is partnering with a well-established, growing aerospace manufacturing company seeking an experienced Supplier Quality Engineer
. This is an excellent opportunity for a quality professional who enjoys working closely with suppliers, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring compliance with aerospace quality standards.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and passionate about building strong supplier relationships while maintaining the highest quality standards.
What You’ll DoAs the Supplier Quality Engineer, you will play a key role in managing supplier quality performance and supporting the organization's Quality Management System.
Responsibilities- Conduct on-site and remote supplier audits to ensure compliance with quality requirements
- Develop and maintain supplier quality procedures and audit programs
- Evaluate supplier performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
- Lead supplier corrective actions and resolution of nonconformance issues
- Review and approve supplier quality documentation
- Manage supplier qualification and Approved Vendor List activities
- Support supplier onboarding and new vendor approvals
- Partner with suppliers to improve quality and delivery performance
- Support new product introductions by ensuring supplier quality requirements are achieved
- Participate in internal, customer, and supplier audits
- Support calibration, document control, and quality system administration
- Assist with corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives
- Perform additional quality-related projects as needed
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related technical field
- 3–5+ years of Supplier Quality or Quality Engineering experience
- Experience working within manufacturing environments
- Knowledge of AS9100 or comparable quality management systems
- Strong understanding of root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and quality management systems
- Aerospace or highly regulated manufacturing experience
- Six Sigma and/or Lean Manufacturing certification
- Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC)
- Experience managing supplier performance metrics and quality improvement initiatives
