Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

Greet, engage, and assist customers actively and visibly.

Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane.

Understand and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling various tenders such as cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, coupons, and loyalty offers according to company policy.

Adhere to company limits on cash shortages and overages, working honestly to control loss.

Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).

Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.

Follow established policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.

Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads.

Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.

Reinforce safety programs, comply with safety procedures, and report unsafe conditions or accidents.

Inspect equipment regularly and report repairs needed.

Create a welcoming environment, answering questions about products throughout the store.

Comply with all local, state, and federal laws, and company guidelines.

Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.

Manage conflict professionally and cooperatively.

Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.

Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues.

Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.

Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Qualifications

Minimum Position Qualifications:

Customer service experience
Effective communication skills
Basic math skills (counting, addition, subtraction)
