Customs Entry Specialist I
AIT Worldwide Logistics is currently seeking a Customs Entry Specialist I.
OverviewThe ideal candidate will have Customs Brokerage/Import/Export or CHB entry writer experience, along with at least one year of customer service, general office, or data entry experience.
Responsibilities- Administrative tasks in the import operations department, servicing clients and their suppliers, providing customer service, and maintaining revenue for the client base and contracted vendors.
- File break-down, classifying data entry, photocopying, scanning, and assembling entries; handling import air recoveries, check cutting, and delivery order creation.
- Auditing commercial documents and applying harmonized tariff schedule codes for accurate duty assessment to meet all federal requirements.
- Reviewing documents for accuracy, verifying country of origin/export, IOR, terms of sale, and value to ensure compliance with federal regulations.
- Daily follow‑up on documentation discrepancy issues, requiring effective troubleshooting and communication skills with customers and foreign origins.
- Other tasks as assigned by supervisor or manager.
- May require weekend or holiday schedule on a departmental rotation basis, as needed by operation and account requirements.
- Wage range: $20.70–$28.60 (varies by geography based on knowledge, skills, and experience).

- Customer service focus: building relationships with internal and external customers.
- 2–5 years of Entry Writing experience, including 1–2 years in CHB or Imports.
- High school diploma or equivalent certificate required.
- Accurate and rapid data entry with multitasking ability.
- Proven customer service skills and problem‑solving ability.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Professional image to customers and positive representation of AIT.
