Position Summary
The Head Softball Coach is responsible for the leadership, administration, and operation of the College's women's softball program. This position oversees coaching, recruiting, player development, academic support, budget management, compliance, and community engagement activities. The Head Softball Coach fosters a positive team culture that promotes academic achievement, personal growth, sportsmanship, and competitive success while ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and College policies.

Duties and Responsibilities
Coaching and Student-Athlete Development
• Plan, organize, and direct all aspects of the women's softball program
• Conduct practices, training sessions, conditioning activities, and team meetings
• Develop competitive strategies and prepare student-athletes for competition
• Supervise assistant coaches and support personnel assigned to the program
• Promote a culture of sportsmanship, integrity, accountability, and respect
• Recruit and retain qualified student-athletes with the academic and athletic potential to succeed
• Develop and maintain recruiting networks with high schools, travel programs, and community organizations
• Assist prospective student-athletes through admissions, financial aid, advising, and enrollment processes
• Monitor academic progress, attendance, and eligibility of student-athletes
• Collaborate with advising, tutoring, accessibility services, and other campus resources to support student success
• Address student-athlete conduct and behavioral concerns in accordance with College policies
Program Administration and Compliance
• Coordinate recruiting activities in accordance with NJCAA, FCSAA, and College regulations
• Ensure compliance with all NJCAA, FCSAA, conference, and College policies and regulations
• Manage program budgets and expenditures in accordance with College policies
• Coordinate team travel, transportation, lodging, meals, and competition schedules
• Schedule contests and collaborate with the Athletic Director regarding game operations
• Maintain inventories of uniforms, equipment, and supplies
• Assist in overseeing the maintenance and improvement of softball facilities and equipment
Community Engagement and College Service
• Promote the softball program through community outreach, public appearances, social media, camps, clinics, and other engagement activities
• Assist with fundraising initiatives and donor engagement efforts that support the softball program and athletic department
• Serve on College committees and participate in institutional activities as assigned
• Attend departmental meetings, professional development activities, and required College events
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director, Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs, or Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in a related field required
• Master's degree preferred
• Minimum of two years of collegiate coaching experience required
