Class and Grade

This Position is a Part-Time Instructional Position and receives $700 per credit hour.

Position Summary
The Teacher Education Instructor (Adjunct) is responsible for providing high-quality instruction in teacher education courses and supporting student learning through effective teaching practices. The instructor will prepare and deliver course content, assess student performance, and contribute to the academic success of future educators. Teaching assignments may vary by semester and campus location based on departmental needs.

Duties and Responsibilities

Courses to Be Taught

• EDG 4323 Professional Teaching Practice

• EEX 4265 Curriculum and Instruction for Students with Disabilities

• EEX 4221 Assessment of Exceptional Student Education
Instruction

• Teach assigned Teacher Education courses in accordance with College and departmental standards

• Prepare instructional materials, assignments, and assessments

• Evaluate student performance and provide timely feedback

• Maintain accurate academic records and submit required reports

• Support student learning and academic success through effective instructional practices
Student Support

• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment

• Provide guidance and support to students regarding course content and expectations

• Encourage student engagement and professional growth in the field of education

• Maintain regular communication with students regarding academic progress
Program Support

• Collaborate with department faculty and administrators as needed

• Support program goals and accreditation requirements as appropriate

• Participate in departmental activities and meetings when requested

• Perform other instructional duties as assigned
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Master's degree in Education with at least one graduate course in assessment, special education, and curriculum and/or instruction; or

• Master's degree in Special Education; or

• Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction

• Valid Florida Professional Educator Certificate preferred

• Minimum of three years of experience teaching upper elementary or secondary exceptional student education preferred

• Applicant must pass employment/reference verification screening and a background check

• This position is not eligible for Veterans' Preference

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge of instructional practices and curriculum development in education

• Knowledge of assessment strategies and exceptional student education principles

• Ability to effectively teach and engage adult learners

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to evaluate student learning outcomes and provide constructive feedback

• Ability to utilize instructional technology and learning management systems

• Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students
