Class and Grade

This is a Part-time Curriculum Development position and receives $35 per hour for 40 hours.

Position Summary
The Curriculum Development Coordinator will design, develop, and deploy a high-quality asynchronous or hybrid course for the Associate in Science Degree in Crime Scene Technology and Forensic Science ns River State College. This position is responsible for creating engaging instructional content, ensuring pedagogical alignment, and integrating course materials into the Canvas Learning Management System. The coordinator will collaborate with College personnel to support the development of a rigorous and accessible curriculum that meets program and institutional standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

Curriculum Design and Development

• Design and develop a high-quality asynchronous or hybrid course for the A.S. Degree in Crime Scene Technology and Forensic Science

• Develop course content that aligns with program learning outcomes and institutional standards

• Create instructional materials, assessments, assignments, and learning activities

• Incorporate evidence-based instructional design and adult learning principles into course development
Learning Management System Integration

• Build and deploy course content within the Canvas Learning Management System

• Ensure proper organization, navigation, and functionality of course materials

• Integrate multimedia, instructional technologies, and digital learning resources as appropriate

• Ensure course accessibility and compliance with applicable standards and best practices
Collaboration and Quality Assurance

• Collaborate with College personnel to ensure curriculum accuracy and alignment with program objectives

• Participate in course review and revision processes as needed

• Support continuous improvement efforts related to course quality and student learning outcomes

• Complete other curriculum development activities as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Subject matter expertise in Crime Scene Technology, Forensic Science, Criminal Justice, or a closely related field

• Experience developing curriculum, instructional materials, or online coursework

• Experience using Canvas or a comparable Learning Management System preferred

• Demonstrated ability to design and develop high-quality instructional content
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge of instructional design principles and online learning best practices

• Knowledge of curriculum development processes and course design methodologies

• Proficiency with Canvas or comparable Learning Management Systems

• Ability to develop engaging and effective instructional content

• Strong written, verbal, and organizational skills

• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with faculty and staff

• Knowledge of accessibility standards and quality assurance practices for online learning
