Position Overview

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) announcement for an ENGINEERING EQUIPMENT OPERATOR LEADER in the South Atlantic Division, Jacksonville District, Operations Division.

Position Title: ENGINEERING EQUIPMENT OPERATOR LEADER

Series/Grade: WL-5716-10 (64910)

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Employee will be on TDY for 11 days minimum to 28 days maximum throughout the year.
  • Employee will be operating marsh excavators at Dredge Material Maintenance Areas.
  • Employee must be able to place water control structures per scope of work.
  • Employee must be able to use grade stakes to meet elevation specifications.
  • Employee must have a CDL prior to employment.
Minimum Qualifications

Ability to do the work of an Engineering Equipment Operator Supervisor without more than normal supervision: ability to operate heavy engineering equipment (e.g., graders, dozers, backhoes) to excavate or grade surfaces to rough or fine specifications on difficult terrain; ability to plan, schedule, and assign work to subordinates, including setting priorities and deadlines; responsible for the quantity and quality of teamwork, evaluating performance, and determining necessary materials and equipment, and maintaining safe work practices and ensuring a team's compliance with safety regulations (e.g., OSHA).

responsible for the quantity and quality of teamwork and determining necessary materials and equipment, and maintaining safe work practices and ensuring a team's compliance with safety regulations (e.g., OSHA).

  • A Commercial Driver's License (CDL), Class A is required for this position.
