Surveying And Mapping Specialist

Job Summary:
This is work performing technical surveying and mapping work.
Job duties include:
- Develop maps and data deliverables for the District's surveying and mapping program in support of the District's water supply, flood protection, and natural systems missions, in accordance with the Minimum Technical Standards for surveying and mapping as set forth in Chapter 5J-17 Florida Administrative Code, pursuant to section 472.027, Florida Statutes.
- Review and process field survey data, ensuring compliance with the Minimum Technical Standards for surveying and mapping as set forth in Chapter 5J-17 Florida Administrative Code, pursuant to section 472.027, Florida Statutes.
- Process survey work orders, maintain the survey work order database, and generate weekly work order reports for the supervisor. Research, compile, and organize survey data and work order information to be used by District and Contract Survey crews in conducting assignments.
Skilled In:
Work requires advanced levels of computer and office software skills, organizational skills, ESRI ArcGIS Pro, and communication skills including creating and editing digital terrain models (DTMs), digital data editing and processing, maintaining databases, technical writing, and technical drafting.
Minimum Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a field related to surveying and mapping.
An associate's degree from an accredited community or state college and two years' experience using Autodesk Civil 3D or similar CAD drafting program.
Progressively responsible work using ESRI Arc Gis Pro or a similar Geographical Information System program may substitute on a year for year basis for the required college education.
Physical Requirements/Working Environment:
General office environment with extended periods at a computer keyboard and occasional field trips.
Licenses:
Valid State of Florida Driver's License.
Additional Details :
Salary Range: $50,065.60 - $62,587.20
Starting salary is based on qualifications and experience.
