FLSA: Non-exempt | Status: Part-Time

Barry Apartments, located in Palatka, Florida, has an immediate opening for a Part-Time Housekeeper. The chosen applicant will be responsible for daily cleaning and sanitation of all common areas, and creating a welcoming environment for residents, vendors, and visitors. This person will work with the Lead Maintenance to assist in cleaning renovated apartments. A genuine interest in caring for and serving older adults and being a team player are essential.

• This position demands good physical and mental health.
• Must be able to walk for periods of time and use stairs.
• Able to lift, carry, or move up to 25 pounds.

• Operate mechanized cleaning equipment such as vacuums, carpet cleaners, and polishers.
• Maintain facility cleanliness and sanitation throughout the building, including washing, cleaning, and replacing air fresheners and furnishings.
• Handle cleaning solvents and chemicals in compliance with OSHA, EPA, and State Health Department regulations.
• Plan and schedule major cleaning tasks.
• Damp mop all corridor floors, lobby, dining areas, and other spaces daily.
• Clean all common areas, including bathrooms on A-Wing.
• Report repairs immediately to maintenance or office staff.

• Understanding of the needs of the elderly.
• High School Diploma and at least 2 years of property housekeeping experience.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to clear a Criminal Background Check.
• Attendance and satisfactory completion of Protecting God’s Children Workshop.
