Fabrication Specialist

Position Summary

St. Johns Shipbuilding, situated in Palatka, FL, is in search of a versatile Fabrication Specialist to join our team. The role requires expertise in fabricating various components critical to the construction and repair of our ships and the candidate will be essential in delivering high-quality craftsmanship in line with our shipbuilding standards.

• Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications to fabricate metal structures and components.
• Employ cutting, bending, shaping, and welding techniques to create parts as per project requirements.
• Assess materials and choose appropriate fabrication methods to ensure structural integrity.
• Coordinate with the design and engineering teams to resolve any fabrication challenges.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting efficiency enhancements.

• Experience in a similar fabrication role within the maritime or heavy manufacturing industry.
• Proficient with welding techniques and metalworking tools, including CNC machinery.
• Strong attention to detail and dedication to meeting high-quality manufacturing standards.
• Capable of multitasking and managing time effectively to meet production deadlines.
