Our esteemed client, an FMCG company based in Nicosia, is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our client’s finance team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, preferably within the FMCG sector, and strong exposure to the full spectrum of accounting operations including inventory accounting, sales accounting, taxation, and general ledger activities.
Responsibilities- Manage and oversee daily accounting operations and general ledger activities.
- Handle inventory accounting, stock reconciliations, and costing analysis.
- Monitor and record sales transactions and revenue-related accounting entries.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Ensure timely and accurate tax filings and compliance with applicable regulations.
- Perform bank, supplier, customer, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Support internal and external audit processes.
- Ensure proper maintenance of accounting records and supporting documentation.
- Identify process improvements and support implementation of accounting controls and procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional departments to ensure financial accuracy and operational efficiency.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Prior experience in the FMCG industry or a similar fast-paced sector is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Experience with inventory and sales accounting is essential.
- Good understanding of taxation and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, CPA, or equivalent) will be considered an advantage.
- Experience working in a high-volume transaction environment.
