PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

As a Grant Compliance Advisor for the Palestine Civil Society Program you are responsible for supporting the financial and administrative capacity of partner organizations across Palestine, ensuring they meet compliance standards and sustain their operations. You will ensure compliance with Diakonia’s policies, procedures, donor requirements and grant agreements throughout the grant cycle from inception to closure. The role contributes to strengthening partner accountability, financial management systems and organizational sustainability.

You are part of the Palestine Civil Society Program and work closely with the Program Manager, Finance Manager, Global Operational Support and Finance Teams, as well as with partners, donors and relevant networks. This position reports to the International Director, direct supervisor.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support the Program Manager (PM) in partner capacity development and compliance.
  • Assist the PM in partner capacity development and compliance.
  • Support partner organizational assessments and collaborate with partners to develop and implement capacity development plans.
  • Follow up on partner financial and administrative systems to ensure compliance.
  • Ensure partners are well informed about Diakonia’s financial policies, procedures, compliance standards, and grant requirements.
  • Provide technical support to partners on work plans, budgets, financial reporting, procurement procedures, audits and grant management.
  • Facilitate and monitor grant disbursements to partners and follow up on grant utilisation and reporting requirements.
  • Conduct partner financial monitoring, including field visits, virtual meetings, compliance reviews, and follow‑up actions.
  • Review and assess partner budgets, financial reports, audit reports and management responses.
