Job DescriptionPalestine ISD is excited to announce an opening for the Director of Bands position.
As the district begins a new chapter of growth in the performing arts, we are seeking an experienced, motivated, and visionary leader who is ready to build a corps-style band program from the ground up and establish a strong, sustainable foundation for years to come.
This position carries high expectations and significant responsibility. The Director of Bands will oversee the full 6–12 band program, working collaboratively with each campus principal to ensure all band staff members are aligned to campus goals and contribute positively to the culture. The successful candidate will cultivate a unified, student-centered program, set clear instructional standards, and strategically design the systems needed for long-term success.
Strong administrative support, a competitive salary, and appropriate resources will be provided to enable the selected candidate to build a comprehensive, high-performing program.

Qualifications: We are seeking applicants with demonstrated state-level experience
and a proven history of success in the UIL State Marching Contest
. While BOA experience is not required, candidates must show the capacity and determination to build and lead a program, strengthen recruiting, establish strong instructional systems, and guide both marching and concert ensembles to consistent excellence. A successful background in UIL Concert and Sigh treading and familiarity with the TMEA Honor Band process are highly preferred.
