Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)
Optum is a leading post‑acute care partner, dedicated to helping people feel their best. As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will perform treatment and provide exercise instruction and patient education to improve patients’ well‑being while following the established plan of care.
Primary Responsibilities- Follow all state specific laws governing physical therapy in home care, perform procedures qualified, and report changes to the supervising PT.
- Instruct and aid patients in active and passive exercise, muscle re‑education, gait, functional, ADL, transfer, safety, and prosthetic training.
- Observe, record, and report to the supervising PT, nurse supervisor, and/or physician the patient’s response to treatment and changes in condition; coordinate care with other team members.
- Instruct patients, family, caregiver, and other team members about the scope of therapy within PT assistant responsibilities.
- Current, licensed, registered, or certified to assist in the practice of physical therapy in state of practice.
- Current CPR certification.
- Current driver’s license, valid vehicle insurance, and dependable vehicle or public transportation.
- Ability to function in any home situation regardless of age, race, creed, color, sex, disability or financial condition.
- Available to work a weekend rotation.
- Ability to perform physical tasks required for patient care, including lifting, transferring, and assisting with mobility.
The hourly pay for this role ranges from $23.41 to $41.83 per hour based on full‑time employment. In addition to your salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase, and 401(k) contribution (subject to eligibility).
