Job Title:
Process Control & Automation Technician
Job Type: Full-Time | On-site
We are seeking a Process Control & Automation Technician to support and improve automated manufacturing operations in a fast-paced production environment. This is a hands-on role focused on PLC-controlled equipment, electrical systems, instrumentation, and automation reliability
.
This position plays a critical role in ensuring production equipment operates safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime while supporting continuous improvement and plant expansion initiatives.
What You’ll Do- Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair PLC-controlled manufacturing equipment
- Support and improve process control systems, automation, VFDs, and instrumentation
- Design, modify, and implement automation upgrades and new control solutions
- Perform preventive maintenance to reduce unplanned downtime
- Diagnose electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues
- Read and interpret PLC programs, electrical schematics, blueprints, and manuals
- Collaborate with maintenance leadership on spare parts and controls inventory
- Ensure compliance with safety policies, GMPs, SOPs, and food safety standards
- Support facility systems (HVAC, steam, chillers, utilities) as needed
- Communicate equipment issues, root cause findings, and corrective actions to leadership
- 4–6 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial automation environment
- Hands-on experience with PLC troubleshooting and controls programming
- Strong knowledge of:
- Electrical systems
- Instrumentation
- VFDs
- Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams and PLC logic
- Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills
- Comfortable working on the plant floor and lifting up to 50 lbs
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- Willingness to work varying shifts and occasional weekends as project needs require
- Must reside in or near Palestine, TX (relocation not available)
