This position requires working onsite three (3) days per week and remotely two (2) days per week.
The FAR Chemical Plant Controller will serve as the senior finance business partner for FAR Chemical, responsible for financial reporting, cost accounting, operational finance support, internal controls, and site financial planning and analysis.
This role will partner closely with site leadership to drive financial clarity, cost discipline, working capital optimization, and scalable reporting infrastructure. The Controller will ensure FAR operates with strong financial visibility and control while supporting the broader integration and standardization of finance processes across the organization.
Key Responsibilities- Own the monthly close process for FAR Chemical, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial results
- Partner with site and executive leadership to provide actionable business insights for decision support
- Maintain and enhance financial control environment to improve balance sheet discipline
- Oversee cost accounting process and ensure ERP system data integrity and costing accuracy
- Monitor and analyze job performance including material, labor, and overhead variances
- Support product costing, pricing, and margin analysis as needed
- Develop and monitor operational KPI’s including margin, yield, and efficiency
- Contribute to FAR annual budget and forecast process; support long‑range planning process
- Support capital planning and site capital investment analysis
- Build scalable forecast and business analysis models to support future growth and integration
- Improve ERP utilization and data integrity
- Support future system integrations and enhancements
- Drive standardization of accounting processes and reporting formats
- Own inventory valuation and reconciliation processes while driving site initiatives to reduce excess, obsolete, or slow‑moving product
- Analyze and report on drivers of the cash conversion cycle across the business
- Monitor accounts receivable and accounts payable activity to optimize working capital performance
- Contribute to the harmonization of charts of accounts and reporting structures across multiple entities
- Develop process documentation and repeatable processes to unlock scalable growth
- Assist in consolidation and cross‑entity reporting initiatives
- Supervise and develop site accounting personnel
- Crosstrain team members to improve sustainable business processes
- Promote a culture of ethics, financial ownership, and continuous improvement
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required; CPA preferred
- 5+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience, preferable within manufacturing environments
- Experience in cost accounting and inventory‑intensive environments
- Experience owning monthly close processes, financial reporting cycles, and management reporting
- Demonstrated ability to learn new systems, improve processes, and implement financial controls
- Exposure to multi‑entity environments or system integrations a plus
- Advanced excel skills and ERP experience required;
Syteline experience a plus - Strong communication skills with the ability to partner effectively with operations and executive leadership
