Rate: $75/hr-$80/hr
Job Description –This role supports the structural integrity of aircraft components through stress analysis, Finite Element Modeling, and engineering documentation. The engineer works with minimal oversight and often serves as a technical lead, supporting design, production, and in‑service programs.
Key Responsibilities Structural Analysis- Perform static, fatigue, and damage‑tolerance analysis for metallic and composite structures.
- Conduct hand calculations and classical stress methods.
- Build and analyze complex FEMs using FEMAP/NASTRAN.
- Predict structural behavior under loads, pressure, and temperature.
- Partner with design teams to optimize structures.
- Prepare stress reports and documentation for FAA/regulatory compliance.
- Support MRB repairs and provide engineering dispositions.
- Compare and validate FEA predictions with physical test results.
- 5+ years of structural/stress analysis experience.
- Proficiency with FEMAP and NASTRAN for FEA.
- Strong understanding of structural mechanics, materials, fatigue, and damage tolerance.
- Ability to perform hand calculations and classical stress methods.
- Experience with aircraft structures (metallic and/or composite).
- Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering or equivalent years of experience.
- Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
- Strong communication skills and experience writing formal stress reports.
- Eligibility to work onsite in Huntsville, Titusville, or Houston.
