Safe Sky Systems USA is seeking a Systems Engineer II/III to support advanced Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (UAS) development and integration efforts in support of government and commercial customers. Safe Sky Systems USA is a UAS manufacturing, training, and systems integration company supporting customers operating in defense, intelligence, and critical infrastructure environments. We focus on delivering safe, repeatable, and operationally relevant UAS solutions.
- This position is a full-time, on-site engineering role supporting UAS system design, integration, testing, and sustainment. The engineer will work as part of a small, highly technical team developing and maturing multi‑rotor UAS platforms, payloads, navigation systems, and mission software, including operations in indoor and GPS‑denied environments.

Experience Level: Systems Engineer II / III Minimum 5+ years relevant experience
Required Qualifications:- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working with UAS, robotics, autonomous systems, or related platforms.
- Hands‑on experience integrating UAS hardware and software, including flight controllers, sensors, payloads, and communications systems.
- Strong programming experience in one or more of the following languages: C, C++, Python.
- Experience working with common UAS flight control stacks such as PX4, Ardu Pilot, or equivalent systems.
- Experience supporting system‑level testing, troubleshooting, and root‑cause analysis.
- Ability to work independently and in a small team environment.
- Strong technical documentation skills, including the ability to produce system descriptions, test plans, CAD drawings and engineering reports.
- U.S. Person status and ability to support U.S. Government programs.
- Ability to pass company background and drug screening.
- Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics or a related technical discipline.
- Experience with indoor or GPS‑denied navigation systems such as UWB, VIO, SLAM, or LiDAR‑based positioning.
- Experience with embedded Linux systems and companion computers.
- Knowledge of RF systems, telemetry links, and secure communications.
- Experience supporting DoD, DHS, or other government UAS programs.
- Familiarity with safety‑critical system design, fail‑safe architectures, and redundancy concepts.
- Active or prior U.S. security clearance.
- Design, integrate, and test UAS hardware and software components at the system and subsystem level.
- Support integration of navigation, positioning, and autonomy technologies into operational UAS platforms.
- Develop and maintain software supporting flight control, mission automation, and payload operation.
- Support waypoint‑based and repeatable mission execution concepts.
- Conduct laboratory, bench, and flight testing to validate system performance.
- Troubleshoot hardware, firmware, and software integration issues.
- Support prototype builds, system modifications, and iterative design improvements.
- Collaborate with program leadership, operators, and external partners to translate operational requirements into engineering solutions.
- Assist in development of technical documentation and engineering deliverables.
- Additional duties may be assigned.
- Primarily on‑site engineering role with laboratory and hands‑on integration work.
- Occasional outdoor flight testing and field support.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
