Harris Space Systems Sector within the Space and Mission Systems (SMS) Segment seeks an experienced SI&T or SW I&T Specialist to support the integration of Spacecrafts and join our growing team. This position will be on-site in Palm Bay, Fl. The SI&T or SW I&T Specialist will support the system verification and test planning for the integration of spacecraft subsystems, culminating in end-to-end testing at the Space Segment.
Responsibilities include working with a team of I&T engineers through the product life cycle, from initial requirement analysis for testability to designing and developing test plans and flows. It also includes managing the integration activities of test beds and software simulators developed both internally and/or by subcontractors. The SI&T or SW I&T Specialist will collaborate with internal program teams, including systems engineering, software engineering, mission, payload, quality, and operations.
The Specialist SI&T will work closely with internal program teams, including systems engineering, software engineering, mission teams, payload teams, quality assurance, and operations. This role will support test efforts throughout the product lifecycle, from program inception and requirements analysis (including testability) to test architecture, integration, testing, and production support activities. The SI&T will define complex test strategies to verify lower-level assemblies and payload capabilities, while working with a team composed of multiple internal organizations and subcontractors for the full integration and testing of the system.
Essential Functions:
* Responsible for integrating and testing lower-level assemblies into sub-system/payload level testing
* Generate system test documentation (e.g., Test Requirements Documents, Test Design Documents (TDDs), Test Plans/Procedures) and direct support personnel in the execution of system testing and integration readiness tasks for Space Payloads and/or Space Vehicles
* Develop and execute functional and performance test procedures, qualification test, and document test results in reports to ensure requirements are met
* Support the setup of specific test configurations, scripts development, development of test procedures, implementation, checkout of test racks, test set software, and analysis tools evaluation (as required)
* Identify, record, document, and track issues through to resolution
* Analyze test results, detect issues, and collaborate with the development team to track root causes
* Represent SI&T during major design reviews such as SRR, SDR, PDR, CDR, and TRR.
* Support all phases of the product lifecycle (design, analysis, manufacturing, test, verification/validation, and delivery)
* Travel as needed for post-delivery support and integration activities
* Work extended and weekend hours during SI&T phases of the program
* Collaborate with cross-functional technical teams (i.e., Systems Engineering, Project Engineering, Software Engineering) during the requirements analysis phase, including developing/updating the Requirements Verification Traceability Matrix (RVTM) for completeness
