Harris is seeking an Engineering Technician to support our customers in building, testing, and assembling precision photonic components. Candidates should have a solid technical foundation in electronics, mechanical systems, optics, machine shop operations, or related fields, and the ability to read and follow technical specifications while working with precision equipment.

• Execute fabrication, assembly, integration, test, and inspection processes in accordance with detailed work instructions and drawings, including optical fiber splicing and recoating, fabrication and inspection of photonic circuits, mechanical builds, metal soldering, microscopy, and profilometry.
• Operate machining parts with standard tooling and shop equipment.
• Integrate COTS optical equipment (power meters, monitoring equipment, optical laser sources, etc.) according to architecture block diagrams and wiring diagrams.
• Assist with equipment calibration following vendor or custom procedures.
• Communicate regularly with management to ensure the team meets cost, schedule, and quality expectations.
• Maintain preventive maintenance schedules in accordance with documentation.
• Operate wire bonding, photomasking, epoxy application, and other systems commonly used for optical device fabrication.
• Maintain high standards for cleanliness, workspace organization, and reliability.
• Perform precision building and assembly operations.
• Apply working knowledge of engineering processes and methodologies.
• Interpret and execute technical specifications.
• Complete a polygraph examination for program clearance requirements (polygraph may be beyond the standard 5‑year validity period).

• High School Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience, OR a 2‑year post‑secondary/associate’s degree with a minimum of 2 years of related experience.
• Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with polygraph clearance.
