Test Engineering Technician

Job Location
- Palm Bay, FL Duration: 12 Months (Temp to Perm) Pay Rate $35-37/hr on w2

Test Engineering Technician who will support the manual and automated testing of space hardware. Testing may be performed at the circuit card, assembly, sub-system and/or space vehicle level. Experience handling sensitive hardware, very strong computer skills and the ability to strictly adhere to documented procedures is a must. Prior experience with RF, optical and/or digital technology is a must.

Schedule:

1st shift on 980-Reg (6am to 3:30pm)

Essential Functions:

  • Transport test equipment, fixtures, and cables to required testing locations.
  • Setup tests per written documentation and engineering direction.
  • Verify all test equipment is in calibration.
  • Verify all licensed test software is not expired.
  • Assemble custom or COTS equipment/fixtures.
  • Performs test and records required information.
  • Document failures and reports any anomalies to key stakeholders.
  • Executing automated software using LabVIEW and/or Test Stand GUIs.
  • Troubleshooting failed assemblies with engineering oversight.
  • Operate RF, optical and/or digital test equipment including network analyzers, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, noise figure analyzers, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, OTDRs, OBRs, lasers, SOAs, BERT, DMMs and power supplies.

Qualifications:

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
  • Active Secret Clearance required
  • Preferred Additional

    Skills:

    Excellent communication, technical writing and presentation skills. Experience handling very sensitive and fragile hardware, including mating and de-mating high density connectors, RF and optical connections. Experience with qualification testing, including vibration, thermal and thermal vacuum testing. Willing to work overtime as requested.
