Job Description:

Harris in Palm Bay, Florida currently has an opening for a Power Supply Design Engineer. In this role, you will develop Power Supply circuits for data acquisition and computing systems. Responsibilities will include designing, testing and debugging power conversion and analog circuitry as well as producing technical documentation and writing specifications.
Essential Functions:
- Design and develop isolated and non-isolated power conversion topologies including AC/DC converters, DC/DC converters, battery chargers and power management circuits.
- Conduct component selection and design trade studies for power semiconductors, magnetics, ICs, filters, and protection circuitry
- Simulate and analyze power circuits for efficiency, thermal performance, control loop stability, EMI/EMC, and transient response
- Develop schematics, support PCB layout, and ensure good design practices for high-current, high-voltage, and low-noise applications
- Create and execute test plans for prototype bring-up, characterization, verification, and qualification
- Troubleshoot power supply performance issues in the lab and support root cause and corrective action activities
- Support compliance efforts related to safety, EMI/EMC, environmental, and reliability requirements
- Collaborate with manufacturing and quality teams to support production release, yield improvements, and failure analysis
- Prepare technical documentation including design reports, analysis summaries, test procedures, and released engineering data
- Support design reviews and provide technical leadership in power electronics development
- Ability to obtain a US Government Security Clearance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional
Skills:
- BSEE, Computer Engineering or other related technical field of study.
- Hardware debugging skills & experience in operation of Signal Generator, Logic Analyzer, Digital Oscilloscopes.
- Knowledge of Miliary Standards including 461, 704 and 1275.
- Active TS/SCI Clearance a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to interact with a cross functional team.
- Ability to collaborate across all levels of leadership.
