Employees work 9 out of every 14 days totaling 80 hours worked, and have every other Friday off
- We are looking for a driven mechanical engineer to perform process design, development, and qualification/testing tasks on complex mechanical hardware including precision mechanisms and electro-mechanical hardware, in a program team environment.
- Candidate is expected to own larger aspects of the system and be flexible with tasking as the program evolves.
- Program support and technical leadership over requirements definition, concept generation, material selection, trade studies, design sensitivity/optimization studies, preliminary and final design, design documentation, and assembly/integration and testing may be required.
- Candidate must have experience in 3D modeling, critical HW design and development and the ability to work independently within a multi-disciplined team environment.
- Candidate must be willing to work within a lab environment and be hands-on with hardware.
- Performs a wide range of CAD design assignments in support of the hardware engineering organization including the editing of models and/or drawing, notes provided by engineering.
- Assures design documentation complies with the program requirements, organization s processes and industry standards.
- Prepares accurate drawings and schematics with proper tolerances, dimensions and instructions, with oversight from senior designers.
- Ability and desire to take full ownership of tasking while working with limited supervision in a variety of high consequence program activities
- Provide regular communication and briefings, both formally and informally, to internal and external stakeholders, including customer representatives
- Generation of Technical Data Package components (Part and Assembly drawings, etc.).
- Prototype, Integrate, and Test component parts and assemblies.
- Develop test plans and procedures for mechanical subsystems.
- Perform test and evaluation of component parts and systems.
- Participate in peer reviews, PDRs, CDRs, and other required design reviews.
- Participate in product change review meetings and discussions and implement changes.
- Participate in interdisciplinary design teams and reviews.
- Adhere to company processes for product development, configuration management, purchasing, etc.
- Direct Designers/ Technicians/Operators as part of a design team.
- Support field testing/demonstration efforts as an ME field representative.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
- In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
