Harris is seeking an influential and forward‑thinking Principal HR Business Partner to play a critical role in shaping the people strategy for our Space & Mission Systems (SMS) Segment. In this highly visible role, you will serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders and their teams, driving HR initiatives to enhance operational effectiveness and deliver impactful HR solutions across aligned functions.

This position is ideal for a strategic, data‑driven HR leader who enjoys solving complex organizational challenges while building strong relationships across the business.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide primary HR strategic advice to multiple senior‑level executives within the SMS Segment, offering consultative support on complex organizational, talent, and business challenges.
  • Analyze workforce data to identify trends, provide data‑driven insights that inform decision‑making, and develop recommendations on organizational design. Create executive‑level metrics and presentations to translate HR data into compelling business narratives and actionable insights.
  • Lead talent management and succession planning initiatives. Partner with leaders on talent decisions, and identify, assess, and develop high‑potential talent to build robust leadership pipelines.
  • Design and implement targeted development strategies for critical roles and key talent.
  • Lead and influence organizational change initiatives and transformation efforts.
  • Drive initiatives to enhance organizational agility, collaboration, and performance in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
  • Guide leaders through complex employee relations matters, performance management, and sensitive organizational issues.
  • Lead and execute HR special projects and strategic initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Corporate HR, Segment HR COEs, Sector HR, and cross‑functional partners to drive best practices and innovative solutions.
  • Ability to obtain US Government security clearance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience; OR Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience; OR, in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 16 years of prior related experience.
  • 12+ years of progressive HR experience in dynamic, matrixed environments.

  • Experience with HRIS systems, talent management platforms, and collaboration tools (SharePoint, Microsoft Teams).
  • Experience coaching or supporting executive‑level leadership.
