IT Support, Hardware Engineer
Systems Technician
Individual will be part of the hardware administration team. Team members are responsible for processing requests for computers, peripheral computing hardware, projectors, servers, and network printers that are submitted to Engineering IT. Help evaluate user requirements, research request, and occasionally prepare justification for approval based on user needs and departmental guidelines. Work with electronic vendor partner or direct reseller in ordering equipment.
Keep inventory and maintain spare stock level in hardware stockroom. Update various databases with hardware asset and purchase information.
Qualifications:
AA/AS degree and 2- 4 years of relevant experience or High School and 6-8 years of relevant experience. Skilled in use of Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel and Outlook. Exceptional customer service and phone skills. Must be dependable and a team player. Capable of operating in a frequent interrupt environment and yet remain focused on completion of tasks. Ability to interface with all levels of management, staff, customers, and suppliers to resolve customer requests.
Ability to accomplish basic job duties accurately and with little or no supervision. Ability to multi-task, possess accurate typing skills, and use of good judgment in analyzing user requests.
Desirable Additional
Skills:
Good organizational skills. Some familiarity with computing hardware terminology and function. Experience preparing PR's, PO's and RMA's. Experience with People Soft and BMC Remedy work order system. Willingness to embrace innovation and change.
