Responsible for managing and directing all SAP security related Personnel Security requirements. The security specialist implements all requisite national security directives with specific emphasis on NISPOM, Intelligence Community Directives (ICDs), SAP directives and other governing directives, as applicable. The incumbent will be accountable for the badging process into classified areas, Media Custodian, and ensure the day-to-day operations of classified areas which encompasses open/close, escorting, maintaining paperwork for accreditation.
EssentialFunctions
- Responsible for the overall execution of SAP PERSEC tasks
- Review and verify personnel security clearances and SAP accesses through queries to government security databases and systems
- Conduct SAP nomination process (SAPNP) and Personnel Security Questionnaire (PSQ) reviews of candidates being submitted for SAP access
- Generate Program Access Request (PAR) packages; ensure all required information is included including currency of information, completeness of forms, and inclusion of required signatures. Generate Program Indoctrination Agreements (PIA), provide briefer/debriefer, and/or execute briefs/debriefs
- Proficient in personnel security databases that are utilized by both the DoD and IC (i.e.DISS, JADE, Scattered Castles)
- Manage and generate reports from internal personnel security databases (i.e.SIMS)
- Generates/maintains monthly personnel security metrics charts
- Maintain security documentation and files in accordance with applicable requirements
- Subject matter expert in SAP PERSEC, provides training to peers
- Occasionally assist with classified courier/visitor escorting and document destruction duties
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products to efficiently support the program security team
- Must have excellent organizational skills with a high degree of accuracy
- Verbal and written communication skills are essential
- Prepare and maintain continuity books and procedures for multiple security functions
- Must possess excellent people skills and the ability to perform in high stress environments
- Assist Program Security Officers with generating and presenting program security related material as needed
- Communicate with Government agencies on a continuous basis to obtain approvals and maintain compliance with applicable regulations
- Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.
- TS/SCI US Security Clearance
- Experience as a Cleared Defense Contractor (CDC) working in corporate and/or government environments with industrial security duties in support of Intelligence Community (IC) or Department of Defense (DoD) programs
- Efficient, proactive, responsive team player with excellent written and oral communication skills; able to interface effectively with all levels of corporate management and government customers
- Must be proficient in computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point
- Proficient with JADE, SIMS, DISS and additional Personnel Security tools
- Hands on, self-starting, disciplined and detail-oriented individual with ability to work independently in a high-volume environment
- Working knowledge of the Intelligence Community Directives (ICD’s), National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), SAP Directives, and Supplement Information system security experience desired
