Working under the guidance of senior engineers, you will collaborate with electrical, hardware, and software teams to help ensure smooth hardware–software integration, reliability, and performance of embedded systems. This internship is designed to help you gain hands‑on experience in real‑world firmware development while contributing to active projects.
Duties & Responsibilities- Assist in developing firmware for brushless DC (BLDC) and permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSM), including basic sensorless and sensored control concepts.
- Help implement and tune control loops such as FOC (Field‑Oriented Control), PID, and speed/torque control under supervision.
- Support the development and maintenance of firmware for electronic speed controllers (ESCs).
- Interface with hardware peripherals such as ADCs, PWM timers, CAN, UART, SPI, and I²C.
- Participate in motor characterization, efficiency testing, and thermal behavior observation.
- Assist with hardware bring‑up, validation, and debugging using tools like oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
- Collaborate with hardware and mechanical teams during prototype and PCB development stages.
- Implement basic diagnostics, fault detection, and protection routines with guidance.
- Help document firmware architecture, algorithms, and testing procedures.
- Participate in code reviews and follow embedded development best practices.
- Assist in developing and testing firmware on STM
