Job Summary
We are seeking a Stormwater Maintenance Vacuum Truck Operator. Under supervision of the Field Operations Supervisor, the Stormwater Maintenance Vacuum Truck Operator performs such tasks and duties as are necessary for cleaning stormwater structures and systems including but not limited to drywells, envibro systems, treatment systems, and stormwater inlets. The position also supports the repairing of stormwater structures as needed.
Job Responsibilities- Operate and drive the stormwater maintenance vacuum truck safely and efficiently.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the truck is in good working condition.
- Use the vacuum truck’s equipment to efficiently remove sediment, trash, leaves, and other debris from stormwater structures.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries while operating the vacuum truck and performing maintenance tasks.
- Follow environmental regulations and guidelines for proper disposal of collected materials.
- Collaborate with other team members to accomplish daily tasks.
- Ensure all daily tasks are completed in a safe manner.
- Other duties as needed.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with the ability to obtain a Tanker Endorsement. Class A with Tanker Endorsement is preferred.
- Previous experience operating vacuum trucks or similar equipment.
- The ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting heavy objects, working outdoors in varying weather conditions, and standing or walking for extended periods of time.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and the ability to consistently adhere to them to ensure a safe working environment.
- Proven track record of punctuality, reliability, and consistent work performance.
- The work requires balancing, climbing, kneeling, lifting up to 75 pounds (manhole covers, drywell covers and grates, catch basin grates), pushing, pulling, reaching, stooping, and walking carrying support equipment. Standing next to and entering drywells, catch basins and stormwater manholes that can be 5’ deep or deeper. Working near vehicles and heavy equipment traffic.
