Mechanical Analysis Engineer (FEA / ANSYS)
We are seeking a Mechanical Analysis Engineer with expertise in Finite Element Analysis (FEA), ANSYS Mechanical, ANSYS Workbench, Thermal Analysis, Structural Analysis, and Stress Analysis to support advanced aerospace propulsion systems. This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance.
In this role, you will develop and execute complex simulation models, perform thermal and structural analyses, evaluate test and analytical data, and provide engineering recommendations that directly impact product performance and system reliability. You'll have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge hypersonic engines, propulsion systems, gas turbine technologies, and advanced defense programs while collaborating with a highly specialized team of engineers and subject matter experts.

Responsibilities- Perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Structural Analysis, Thermal Analysis, Stress Analysis, and Simulation Modeling for advanced propulsion systems and controls products.
- Develop detailed finite element models (FEMs), including meshing, gridding, material properties, boundary conditions, and loading scenarios.
- Utilize ANSYS Mechanical, ANSYS Workbench, Abaqus, and related CAE tools to evaluate structural integrity, thermal performance, and system behavior.
- Conduct static, dynamic, thermal, vibration, fatigue, and stress analyses on complex engineering systems and components.
- Develop analytical approaches and methodologies to solve unique thermal and structural mechanics challenges.
- Interpret simulation results and generate recommendations to improve design performance, reliability, manufacturability, and safety.
- Develop and validate material models to support thermal and structural analysis efforts.
- Analyze test data and correlate analytical predictions with hardware performance.
- Support design validation activities, root cause investigations, and engineering test programs.
- Develop material test plans, select appropriate test methods, and evaluate results to support material characterization and modeling.
- Assist with the design of test articles and experiments used to validate analytical models and support product development.
- Provide structural mechanics and materials engineering support to integrated product teams (IPTs).
- Collaborate with design, manufacturing, test, systems, and propulsion engineers to achieve technical program objectives.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and analysis documentation for internal and external customers.
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related STEM discipline
- 4-8 years of relevant engineering experience with a Bachelor's degree
- 2-6 years of relevant engineering experience with a Master's degree
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance

- Experience with ANSYS APDL or other scripting/automation tools
- Familiarity with CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) and fluid-structure interactions
- Experience with material testing, characterization, and material model development
- Experience supporting engineering test programs and model correlation activities
- Experience supporting multidisciplinary engineering teams and integrated product teams (IPTs)
