Job Description & How to Apply Below

Manager/Senior Manager of Accounting | Florida | $150,000–$180,000 + Full Benefits

This is a senior accounting leadership opportunity at a private-equity owned, acquisition-driven organization where your technical depth, M&A experience, and ability to operate independently in an evolving environment will be put to work building and scaling an accounting function that is actively growing. The role reports directly to a senior finance leader who is a hands-off manager by design — someone who values autonomy, trusts their people to figure things out, and has no interest in micromanaging.

The organizational structure is still taking shape in places, and the right candidate will find that energizing rather than unsettling — this is a role for someone who is even-keeled in chaos and motivated by the upward mobility and career-building opportunity that comes from being part of something that is actively being built. You will serve as a key liaison with external auditors during an active audit, take ownership of M&A integration accounting as the company continues to acquire, help design and scale accounting processes and systems, and ultimately build out a team of three to five direct reports as the structure solidifies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a key liaison with external auditors — an active audit is currently underway and your ability to engage confidently and manage this relationship is critical from day one.
  • Own M&A integration accounting as the company continues to grow through acquisition — including ASC 805 purchase accounting, opening balance sheet work, and post-close integration activities.
  • Help design and scale accounting processes, policies, and systems as the organization matures out of a less structured finance function.
  • Assist with building out a team — this role is expected to have three to five direct reports relatively quickly as the organizational structure solidifies.
  • Operate as a highly autonomous contributor reporting to a senior finance leader who values independent judgment and proactive problem-solving over frequent check-ins.
  • Navigate organizational ambiguity with composure — the structure is still evolving and comfort with "going along for the ride" while things get sorted out is genuinely important here.
Requirements

Required Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA required — non‑negotiable.

A mix of public accounting and industry experience is required — candidates coming exclusively from public or exclusively from industry will not be considered; any firm size or tier on the public side is welcome.

3+ years in a leadership or management capacity with experience building or developing a team.

Highly autonomous work style — comfortable operating without significant structure or oversight in a fully remote environment.

Adaptable, even‑keeled personality with the resilience to thrive in a fast‑moving, ambiguous, PE‑backed environment.

Motivated by career growth and upward mobility — the scope of this role is designed to expand as the organization grows.

Preferred M&A and technical accounting experience — ASC 805 purchase accounting, integration work, and external auditor liaison experience are strongly preferred.

PE‑backed company experience — candidates who have only worked in stable, non‑PE environments may find the pace and ambiguity of this organization a difficult adjustment.

Why you'll love working here

True autonomy in a fully remote role — your manager is hands‑off by design and trusts you to own your domain without micromanagement.

A clear and meaningful growth path — you will build out a team, expand your scope, and grow alongside a company that is actively acquiring and scaling.

Rare M&A exposure at a senior level — integration accounting, purchase accounting, and auditor liaison work are core to the role, not occasional extras.

An active, fast-moving environment that rewards adaptability, initiative, and comfort operating in ambiguity — ideal for someone energized by building rather than maintaining.

Excellent benefits with near‑zero employee‑only premium cost and approximately four weeks of PTO at this level. Competitive base salary of $150,000–$180,000 with a strong overall compensation package. INDHP JOB#23087
