Administrative Assistant I
The Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is seeking an Administrative Assistant I for Washington Oaks Gardens State Park in Palm Coast, FL. This position offers a monthly salary of $2,985.36 and an annual salary of $35,824.32.
Position Overview and Responsibilities:
This role involves providing visitor services and administration skills at Washington Oaks Gardens State Park. The successful candidate will assist in planning, coordinating, and implementing all administrative activities involved in park operation. Key duties include performing fiscal audits, acting as a purchasing agent, monitoring and tracking park budgets, preparing budget reports, processing payments, and initiating purchase orders. The position also requires acting as a primary liaison for the Purchasing Card Program System, maintaining work project tracking forms, and ensuring compliance with purchasing regulations.
Additionally, the role involves operating office equipment, acting as a liaison for assigned personnel and worker's compensation actions, assisting with oversight of toll collectors, preparing special correspondence, and acting as an office manager to ensure smooth operation of office procedures.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Candidates must possess knowledge of administrative principles and practices, office procedures and practices, accounting principles and practices, and personal computers including use of Windows, Quicken, Email, and Internet. The ability to collect, evaluate, analyze data, file, perform accounting duties, process personnel actions, process purchasing items, perform budget entry, prepare correspondence and administrative reports, handle multiple phone lines and two-way radio system, operate and maintain office equipment, communicate verbally and in writing, coordinate work assignments, maintain effective working relationships with others, follow verbal and written instructions, resolve customer inquiries, assist in formulation of budget preparation, maintain a valid driver's license, successfully complete background screening, and work rotating shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays is required.
Minimum Qualifications:
A valid driver's license is required for this position.

Washington Oaks Gardens State Park is located at 6400 N. Ocean shore Blvd., Palm Coast, FL 32137. The park is famous for its formal gardens and unique shoreline of coquina rock formations that line its Atlantic beach. It is nestled between the Atlantic Ocean and the Matanzas River, located two miles south of Marineland on State Road A1A.
