Job DescriptionTransports patients to the department in a timely manner and interacts with them professionally and courteously. Assists with patient positioning, lifting, and the application of splints, casts, and other rigid dressings. Performs surgical preps according to established policy and protocol. Communicates with medical staff and ancillary services to ensure appropriate patient care. Assists with the assembly and maintenance of operating room equipment.
Cleans surgical areas and equipment using established cleaning processes within required time frames. Maintains unit supply and equipment inventories as indicated and stocks all work areas. Assists with the delivery of surgical specimens to the laboratory. Assures safe disposal of bio‑hazardous materials and adheres to standards of universal precautions. Provides traction application under direct physician guidance. Assists operating room staff in the smooth transition between surgical cases.
Obtains and delivers items essential for patient care as directed. Performs other duties as assigned.
- Must be able to use computer for patient information and basic department clerical functions.
- Proficiency in handling powered and non‑powered Perioperative equipment and instruments, including surgical beds and stretchers, anesthesia machines, positioning devices, and managing hazardous waste/contaminated supplies and equipment.
- Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) required within 90 days of hire.
- Previous EVS or industrial cleaning experience preferred.
- Demonstrated patient care and communication skills to effectively work with patients from infant, childhood, adolescent, adult, and geriatric age groups.
- Basic computer skills are essential.
- Six months of customer service experience or an equivalent background is necessary.

Physical Requirements -
Pay Range$15.00 - $22.50
