Salary Range: $34 - $35 / Hour
What You’ll DoAs a home‑care registered nurse (RN), you will ensure hospice patients are comfortable and forge compassionate, meaningful connections with the people in their lives. You will guide patients and families through the end‑of‑life journey, supporting them in understanding the palliative nature of hospice care.
WHERE YOU’LL WORKYou will spend most of your time caring for hospice patients in their homes or in assisted living / skilled nursing facilities. Most VITAS nurses make 4–6 visits each day. Once a week you’ll visit the local program office to meet with an interdisciplinary team of social workers, physicians, chaplains, and nurses.

In addition to holding an RN license, at least two years of nursing experience, and reliable transportation, you should exhibit Commitment, Compassion, and a Can‑do Attitude. You will keep patient welfare at the center of everything you do, extending comfort and dignity to all people at the end of their life’s journey.
Job Requirements- Registered Nurse, RN, with reliable transportation that has adequate insurance coverage for driver and passengers.
- Registered Nurse, RN, with a mobile phone (cellular or land line).

- Assist in lifting and transferring patients, as required.

Specific vision abilities required for the Registered Nurse, RN include:
- Close vision.
- Distance vision.
- Ability to adjust focus.
The Registered Nurse, RN will be required to sit and stoop, kneel, and crouch.
Qualifications For The Registered Nurse, RN- Currently licensed to practice nursing in the state where the VITAS program is located.
- A minimum of two years of nursing experience in hospice, home health, or community health in the last five years.
- Equivalent experience or licensure may be considered.
