Job Overview
Pain Management Practice is looking for an experienced FNP or PA. The mid-level provider will see patients in an outpatient setting. The role is part of Pain Relief Solutions, offering competitive pay and benefits.
Responsibilities- Provide pain services including assessment, management, and monitoring per established standards.
- See established patients for follow‑up, medication review, and opioid management when required.
- Assess acute problems (back, neck, joint) and follow protocols or consult the physician.
- Perform pre‑operative assessment for surgery.
- See new and scheduled patients under direct supervision of the pain physician.
- Attend office sessions, seeing 20‑25 patients per session on average.
- Receive pre‑visit patient information from the medical assistant.
- Assess patient health status, wellness, and compliance; determine diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
- Take histories, perform physicals, monitor therapies; administer medications and injections in compliance with state law and clinic guidelines.
- Order laboratory and diagnostic tests; interpret and integrate data for diagnosis and treatment plan.
- Triage calls, evaluate patient problems, educate patients and families, and recommend community resources.
- Collaborate with physicians to manage acute and long‑term medical needs; provide continuity of care between visits.
- Maintain, review, and submit patient records and test results.
- Respond to emergencies and use CPR when needed.
- Document care and maintain department statistics; use computer for data entry.
- Consult with staff as necessary and maintain confidentiality.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Graduate of an AMA‑accredited Physician Assistant program or an approved Nurse Practitioner program.
- Preferred 2‑3 years of professional PA experience or 2‑3 years of NP experience in a clinic setting.
- Musculoskeletal and joint injection experience preferred.
- Current California license to provide physician‑assistant services and DEA certification to prescribe controlled substances.
- Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants, or obtaining it within a reasonable time if not currently certified.
- Commitment to continuing education and compliance with state regulations and ethical standards of the American Academy of Physician Assistants.
Medical office and exam room settings. Requires standing, sitting, walking, bending, stooping, twisting, the ability to help transfer patients, and the capacity to handle stress from multiple tasks. Requires corrected vision and hearing within normal range.
