Summary / Objectives
The Branch Manager leads and coaches the branch team, overseeing the administration and coordination of sales and service activities for the assigned branch. Responsible for maximizing revenue, profitability, sales, and customer satisfaction while minimizing operational losses. Ensures compliance with operational and security procedures, deepens existing relationships, and minimizes customer attrition. Supports the administration and coordination of sales and service activities, promotional campaigns, and product initiatives of the branch.
Responsibilities- Tracks progress toward branch loan and deposit goals and initiates directives to accomplish these objectives.
- Develops branch projections and expectations in strategic planning to include sales goals.
- Provides leadership by example, demonstrates strong customer relations and effective selling and cross-selling in customer contacts; sets expectations for staff behavior and performance.
- Supervises staff performance and makes decisions on personnel matters, including performance ratings, promotions, salary, transfers, and termination.
- Assists staff in goal setting, communication of expectations, and coaching to achieve success.
- Directs hiring, training, and retraining of branch staff, including operations, product knowledge, customer relations, development, and sales.
- Conducts regular meetings with staff to discuss sales campaigns, products, services, policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Maintains responsibility for branch security procedures and understands the operation of security devices to protect the facility against criminal and fraudulent activity.
- Understands and complies with branch audit procedures; participates in required regional visits.
- Serves customers efficiently and confidentially according to bank standards; makes appropriate recommendations and demonstrates appreciation for customers’ time and business.
- Processes loan applications within lending authority and paperwork; extends credit to qualified individuals and businesses; assists in the collection of delinquent loans.
- Manages loan and deposit exceptions within bank expectations, both individually and for the branch.
- Opens new deposit accounts and explains applicable services, features, rules, regulations, pricing, and benefits; handles related maintenance tasks within assigned limits.
- Resolves customer problems and complaints with courtesy and discretion; explains policies as needed and seeks opportunities to satisfy customers and promote additional services.
- Actively participates in community business development activities to promote, enhance, and retain client relationships.
- Explains bank objectives, policies, and programs to employees and oversees their implementation.
- Monitors branch resources and assets and submits requests to serve customers efficiently and effectively.
- Ensures compliance with banking regulations, including Regulation CC and Bank Secrecy Act.
- Maintains a neat, professional appearance and an orderly work area.
- Maintains a solid understanding of customer-facing technology and can discuss and enroll customers in self-service options.

- Education
:
High School Diploma, BA Degree and/or 2 years in Banking - Experience
:
Minimum of 2 years' experience in banking with lending, prior management/supervisory experience, strong organizational skills, proven leadership, strong PC skills, and problem-solving abilities - Knowledge

This position does have supervisory responsibilities.
Physical DemandsMust be willing to travel for meetings and classes; must be able to stand and/or sit for long periods; must be able to access and interpret information on computer screens, documents, and reports and identify customers.
Work EnvironmentPosition is typically in an open lobby area with an individual workstation or desk, or in a private office. The location is inside a cooled and heated facility.
TravelTravel may be required to attend meetings and training as needed.
