Greenskeeper

POSITION OBJECTIVE

Under supervision, provides the care and maintenance of the golf course, landscape beds, trees and shrubs.

• Operates mechanical equipment such as mowers, weed eaters, edgers, and chainsaws
• Ability to stand and walk for multiple hours throughout the day, working in all weather
• Plants trees, shrubs, turf grass, and flowers and keeps a clean landscape bed
• Prunes and trims trees and shrubs
• Assists in construction of new greens, tees, fairways, and bunkers by grading, preparing soil, and planting
• Incorporates safe work practices in job performance
• Attends staff meetings
• Participates in other related tasks as needed

• Adhere to hotel safety standards.
• Perform other duties and handle projects as assigned by Manager.

High School Diploma or equivalent General Education Degree (GED)

• Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English.
• Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process.
• Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
• May be required to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Will be required to work weekends and holidays.
• 6 months of landscaping experience.

• Most work tasks are performed outdoors.
• Position requires walking; must be able to stand and exert well‑paced mobility for up to 4 hours in length. Length of time of these tasks may vary from day to day and task to task.
• Must be able to exert well‑paced ability to reach different outlets and other departments of the resort on a timely basis.
• Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch on a regular basis to maintain the golf course
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
• Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
• Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and other employees.
• Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.
• Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
