Your Boat Club is seeking a full‑time Marine Bottom Painter/Detailer at our location on Lake Tarpon in Palm Harbor.
This hands‑on role is responsible for maintaining the appearance and performance of our boats through bottom painting, hull prep, and full detailing services. If you take pride in your work, enjoy being around boats, and want to be part of a growing marine operation—this is a great opportunity.
Duties and Responsibilities- Perform bottom prep, including pressure washing, sanding, scraping, and masking.
- Apply bottom paint and coatings in accordance with the manufacturer’s specifications.
- Inspect hulls for wear, blisters, or damage and report findings.
- Complete full boat detailing (wash, wax, compound, polish).
- Clean interiors, decks, upholstery, and compartments.
- Operate buffers, sanders, and pressure washing equipment safely.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of work areas and equipment.
- Assist with general marina and fleet maintenance as needed.
Skills and Abilities
- Experience with fiberglass repair or gelcoat work.
- Experience working with center consoles, pontoons, and deck boats.
- General marine maintenance knowledge.
Working in a shop environment can be physically demanding, as it often involves standing for long periods, lifting heavy objects, and operating machinery. The environment can also be noisy and require the use of personal protective equipment. Proper safety measures and training are essential to ensure a safe and comfortable working environment.
CompensationIt will be competitive with similar positions and start at $16.00 an hour, and is negotiable based on experience. In addition to eligibility for paid time off, healthcare benefits, including dental, vision, accident options, and IRA plans, are provided.
