Temporary Art Fair Assistant – Palm Springs

Contemporary art gallery participating in an upcoming art fair in Palm Springs is seeking a motivated and professional Temporary Art Fair Assistant to support booth operations during fair days.

This role is ideal for art students or emerging art professionals looking to gain hands‑on experience in a dynamic art fair environment. The assistant will play a key role in visitor reception, artwork supervision, and daily booth coordination, directly supporting gallery representation and client engagement.

Success in this role requires professionalism, attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to remain composed in a fast‑paced environment. The position works closely with the gallery director and contributes directly to the gallery’s public presence during the fair.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with daily booth setup and organization
  • Welcome collectors, curators, and visitors in a professional and friendly manner
  • Provide basic information about artworks and artists (training provided)
  • Ensure proper artwork care and supervision during fair hours
  • Support sales conversations by coordinating materials and client information
  • Maintain the booth presentation aligned with gallery standards
  • Provide general operational support as needed during the fair
  • Current student or recent graduate in Art History, Visual Arts, Curatorial Studies, Cultural Management, Design, or related field
  • Professional demeanor and comfort interacting with the public
  • Responsible, punctual, and detail‑oriented
  • Ability to work long hours during fair days
  • Interest in contemporary art and gallery operations
Requisitos (Requirements)
  • Current student or recent graduate in Art History, Visual Arts, Curatorial Studies, Cultural Management, Design, or related field
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Professional demeanor and comfort interacting with the public
  • Responsible, punctual, and detail‑oriented
  • Ability to work long hours during fair days
  • Interest in contemporary art and gallery operations
Preferred but not required
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish is a plus)
  • Previous gallery, museum, or art fair experience
