The Clinical Nurse is responsible for the total nursing care of each assigned patient, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The staff nurse initiates teaching and education for patients and families to achieve optimal health outcomes.
Responsibilities- Care for patients on telemetry monitoring, including strip interpretation
- Care for neurologically compromised, pre‑ and post‑operative orthopedic, and combative or psychologically impaired patients
- Provide specialized care in ICU, NICU, ER, labor and delivery, and pediatric units; additional certifications may be required
- Demonstrate knowledge of growth and development, and adapt care to patient age and needs
- Maintain unit competencies and complete acuity evaluations according to protocol
- Communicate interdisciplinary recommendations and act as consultant in complex patient care
- Administer medications per policy, including IVs and blood products; verify against MAR for accuracy
- Maintain competence in nursing practice through in‑services and continuing education (≥25 CEU per year)
- Demonstrate safe practice of restraints, hazardous waste disposal, oxygen handling, hand hygiene, and protective wear
- Advocate for patients and families, providing information and assisting with available resources
- Document and address incidents or quality care issues by shift close
- Assess patients for injury risk and implement prevention strategies
- Current California Registered Nurse license
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification, maintained at all times
- Effective verbal and written communication skills; active listening and compassionate care
- Able to manage multiple priorities independently
- Compliance with Respiratory Fit Testing Protection Policy and completion of EKG test within first 30 days
- Knowledge of the NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Current Emergency Department experience required for float pool RN

Compensation$54.31 – $83.44 hourly; individual wages are determined based upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications and experience.
